A Quiet Day in Sheridan

A Quiet Day in Sheridan

by Soni’s Spark Shack

Cassi and I left the house around 8:30 a.m., coffee still warming our hands, ready for a peaceful drive to Sheridan. The roads were calm, just the way I like them—no rush, no chaos, just open space and time to enjoy each other’s company. Early summer in Wyoming is such a gift. The recent storms left the landscape lush and alive. Everything felt green and breathing.

When we arrived, we slipped on our walking shoes and set out along the creek trail—2.5 miles of beauty and stillness. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect: warm but not hot, with just enough clouds to soften the sunlight. We talked about life as we walked, the kind of easy conversation that drifts between laughter and quiet thought. We spotted a few animals, too—little reminders that we’re never truly alone in nature.

After our walk, we searched for a healthy bite to eat, but nothing quite fit. So we did what felt right—we made a quick stop at Walmart, grabbed what we needed for a fresh salad and a couple drinks, and found a shady spot in the park for a picnic. Just the two of us. No noise. No pressure. Just calm.

There’s something about days like that—slow, simple, full of little joys—that settles the heart. No hurry, no deadlines. Just time. And love.
