A Day in My Life: Cats, Coffee, and Creative Sparks
by Soni’s Spark Shack
Mornings begin early in our house—5 a.m. to be exact. Not because we have to, but because we want to. The smell of the best coffee ever brewed drifts through the air like a gentle nudge from the universe saying, “Let’s do this.” Cassi and I sip and chat for a full hour, just the two of us—sharing the weird, wild, or funny dreams from the night before and scrolling through our favorite corners of the internet (hello, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram).
The kitties? Oh, they know we’re up. Their zoomies echo through the house like thunder (yes, that was a nod to Thunder the kitten). A few of them take their turn curling up on our laps as the rest dart around chasing invisible monsters or each other.
By 7:30 a.m., we’re out the door for our morning walk. It’s our little reset—a breath of fresh air before diving into the day.
Once we’re back, Cassi makes us breakfast—her specialty is eggs and her signature keto coffee (you haven’t lived until you’ve tasted it). Then she heads to work, and I whip up my go-to shake: Smoothie Super Food, collagen, Timeless, Fairlife protein milk, and water. It’s creamy, healthy, and honestly kind of addicting.
Then it’s my favorite time: creative time. I tidy the house, cuddle cats, throw in a load of laundry, and dive into writing—whether it’s my memoir, a children’s book, or a blog post like this one. Canva and MidJourney are my daily playgrounds. I create, imagine, and dream while surrounded by soft purring and the occasional tail across the keyboard.
Evenings are cozy. Cassi comes home and we cook dinner together. We take another walk (yes, we’re those people). Then it’s time for our feline family again—feeding them, cleaning their boxes, prepping the coffee for tomorrow, and playing epic games of hide-and-seek. Our cats are serious about their nightly zoomies and expect a full audience.
We’re in bed by 8:30 p.m. Phones in hand, scrolling or giggling at videos, before drifting off to sleep to do it all again the next day. Some might call it routine—we call it rhythm.
And guess what? We’re just getting started. In the next couple of weeks, we’re adding kickboxing and weight training into the mix. Because why not make strong, happy bodies part of our spark-filled life too?
So tell me—what’s your favorite part of your day? Do your cats have a zoomie schedule too? Let’s chat in the comments below.
Below is a clip I created yesterday.
