Soulful Sunday

Soulful Sunday: One Week, Many Shifts

This past week brought change—and for once, it felt like the good kind.
Little reflections were captured in my journal, small moments tucked away like treasures. It turns out, writing daily has this sneaky way of showing you how much you’re growing, even when you’re too busy living to notice it.

Life moves fast. Way too fast. Sometimes we forget to pause—to actually take in the good, the progress, the people, the possibilities. This week, I remembered to pause. And in that stillness, I asked myself:
How can I be a better me… for me?

For the first time in a long time, a little whisper of hope showed up—and stayed. Not every moment was graceful (hello, two steps back), but I’m learning those backward steps are often necessary. They aren’t failures; they’re foundations. It’s where strength grows.

Now, deep breath… this part is tough to share.
I live with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD)—a condition that can come from long-term trauma, especially when caused by people you were supposed to trust. Some days, I feel strong. Some days, I don’t. But every single day, I remind myself:
It will get better.
Even if healing is awkward, slow, or a bit messy… I’m still in motion. And that matters.

Bright Side Sparks

Instead of sitting in the stress, I took it for a walk (literally).
The warm weather inspired movement, so I hit the trail at the fishing lake—and turned every bench into a workout station. Arms, legs, lunges… the whole sparkly mess. And wow, my muscles remembered. Painful? Yep. But also? Powerful.

I also tried something new:
Finding one good thing in every person I interacted with.
Even if it was small—a kind word, a kind face, a moment of patience. It drowns out negativity. And I realized… so many people are quietly struggling, too. Their silence, their shortness—it’s probably not about me.
So I kept smiling. Held space. And moved on without taking it personally. It felt freeing.

Weekly Check-In

Mental growth: 7/10 – healing is happening

Positivity: 8/10 – gratitude and grace on repeat

Physical activity: 10/10 – that soreness means progress!

The weather has been incredible. Sunny mornings, thunderstorm nights. On Friday, I just sat and watched the clouds, chasing sunsets with my eyes. It was magic.

I’ll keep blogging—even when the “likes” are quiet.
I’m in it for the process, the spark, the healing.
(And yes, the stinker voice in my head still says, “but you don’t have time!” I tell it to hush. This is the time.)

Thanks for reading and walking with me. Let’s keep growing together—slow, steady, and spark-filled.
