Real Talk Tuesday:Small Wins Matter
By Soni’s Spark Shack
It’s easy to get caught up in big goals, but today I’m celebrating something simple: the little steps I take to stay calm when life gets tough.
Here’s my small win:
I’ve been learning to pause before I react. When a difficult moment comes up, I try to step back and take a breath. I ask myself:
How am I really feeling right now?
Am I reacting based on how I feel in this moment?
What might the other person be going through?
It’s not always easy, but I’ve realized that sometimes we overreact (or underreact) because of our own emotions. And making assumptions about someone else’s intentions can leave us misjudging things. So, I’m learning to communicate instead of staying silent. It’s much harder to speak up, but it’s the only way to truly connect and grow.
But sometimes… silence is the right choice. There’s a time to step back and a time to communicate. Sometimes, giving someone the space to speak—without filling the silence—helps them find their own voice. It’s a tricky balance, but I’m learning to trust both.
And just to keep it real—it’s not always smooth sailing. I filmed my first fortress vlog (yep, with bloopers!), and honestly, there’s nothing like tripping over a blanket stake and laughing at yourself to remember that life is full of messy moments.
Quote Inspiration
“Overreacting often comes from unprocessed emotions. Take a pause, breathe, and ask yourself: Is this truly my truth or just my feelings in the moment?”
“Communication is tough, but silence won’t help. Speak with your heart, and listen with understanding.”
What small win are you celebrating today?
Maybe it’s finding calm in chaos, catching yourself in a moment of self-awareness, or even recognizing when silence is the best answer. Let me know in the comments or DM me if you’d rather share privately. Every little step matters—even when you trip over a blanket stake.
